Kenwood Nexedge the Power Behind the Nextalk PAMR Network
KENWOOD NEXEDGE® THE POWER BEHIND THE NEXTALK PAMR NETWORK IN CAPE TOWN
Selected two-way radios in the Kenwood NX1000 range have demonstrated a very commendable Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of up to 40 000 hours. Excellent features like this have prompted Global Communications (an Elvey Group company and part of the Hudaco Group of companies) to offer an unprecedented five-year warranty on the selected models, within the parameters of the company’s terms and conditions.
“MTBF is a measure of how reliable and safe a product is. MTBF is usually given in units of hours; so the higher the MTBF, the more reliable the product is. The MTBF on our selected Kenwood radios, together with their other winning benefits and features, makes them ideal for deployment in remote areas where access to maintenance may be limited,” says Sean Mervitz, Executive Manager at Global Communications, Kenwood’s distributor for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Extending the MTBF on radios used for critical communications functions within a business environment provides organisations with a competitive operational edge. “Naturally, the longer the time between product failure, the more advantageous it is, as businesses can concentrate on their core functions without worrying about how reliable their two-way radios are as communications tools. In addition, the extended MTBF results in lowered maintenance and downtime costs,” says Mervitz.
Mervitz points out that although inclement environmental factors play a role in the longevity of two-way radios, the superior MBTF of these Kenwood radios provides the assurance of longer overall operational periods over the life of a radio.
